Thunderbird Invitational Up Next for Men's Golf

THIS WEEK: The WSU men's golf team will travel to Tempe, Arizona to compete in their final tournament leading up to the Pac-12 Championships. The Cougars will face 17 teams in the ASU Thunderbird Invitational on April 14-15.
 
THE COURSE: Teams will play a total of 54 holes on the Karsten Golf Course, with 36 on Saturday and 18 on Sunday. The course plays at a par-71 with a total of 7,032 yards. Players competing as individuals will play at Papago Golf Course in Phoenix, which also plays at par-71 with a total of 7,316 yards. Teams will tee off at 7:00 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday off hole 1 and hole 10.
 
THE FIELD: The Cougars will face 16 teams, including No.8 Oklahoma, No.9 Baylor, No.22 Arizona State, No.23 UNLV. Arizona, Boise State, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Hawaii, New Mexico State, Oregon State, UC Irvine, Utah, and Wyoming.
 
REPRESENTING WASHINGTON STATE: Competing for the Cougars will be seniors Derek BayleyBrian Mogg, and Zach Anderson, junior AJ Armstrong, and sophomore Daniel Kolar. Junior Grant Cole will compete as an individual.
 
LAST TIME ON THE GREEN: The Cougars took ninth place in the Bighorn Invitational on March 24. Senior Derek Bayley tied for 21st scoring a 70(-2) and a 69(-3) in the first two rounds to bring his total score to a 214(-2). Senior Zach Anderson would end the tournament in 29th overall at 217(+1).

COACHING STAFF: The men's golf team is led by second-year head coach Dustin White, a WSU alum who golfed for the Cougars from 1999-2003.
