SEATTLE – No. 13 Washington State University raced five crews against the top-ranked Huskies, as Washington completed the sweep Saturday, in dual action as part of the Boeing Apple Cup Series at Seattle's Montlake Cut.

The reigning-NCAA Champions and top-ranked team in the country, Washington, swept all five races Saturday, as both teams raced varsity eight, second varsity eight, varsity four, third varsity eight and freshman/novice crews.

"The Huskies backed up their number one ranking. It was a tough day, but I'm certain we are better for it," said WSU head coach
Jane LaRiviere. "I'm looking forward to getting back on the water Monday."

was the last of the Cougar crews to compete Saturday. In the closest contest of the day, Washington took first place to secure the Apple Cup, finishing in a time of 6:30.666, 14 seconds ahead of Washington State in at 6:46.963.

Sue Yu) saw action against two varsity four crews from Washington. The Huskies' varsity four won the heat by posting a time at 7:25.479, finishing just ahead of the varsity four B crew, which crossed the finish line at 7:33.522. WSU's varsity four finished with a time of 7:53.722.
