THIS WEEK: The Washington State women's golf team will compete at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, Oct. 10-11, at Tacoma Country and Golf Club.
THE TOURNAMENT: The third annual Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational is hosted by Seattle University…the 6,068 yard track at Tacoma Country and Golf Club will play at a par-72…the first two rounds will be played Monday, Oct. 10, with a shotgun start at 8 a.m…the final round will be played Tuesday, Oct. 11, beginning at 8 a.m.
THE FIELD: Joining host-school Seattle in the 15-team field will be BYU, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Eastern Washington, Gonzaga, Grand Canyon, Montana, Oregon State, Sacramento State, Sam Houston State, Utah Valley, Washington, Weber State...BYU (24th) is currently ranked in the top-25.
REPRESENTING WASHINGTON STATE: Competing for the Cougars will be junior Alivia Brown, sophomore Madison Odiorne, senior Cherokee Kim, freshman Marie Lund-Hansen, and junior Bree Wanderscheid…freshman Elodie Bridenne and Jamie Midkiff will compete as individuals.Â
LAST TIME ON THE GREEN: WSU finished tied for fourth (+17, 881) with Old Dominion and No. 22 Tennessee at the Golfweek Conference Challenge at Red Sky Golf Club…Alivia Brown led the Cougars with a career-best second-place finish, shooting 6-under par through three rounds (210)…Madison Odiorne tied for 37th (+8, 224)…Cherokee Kim and Marie Lund-Hansen tied for 42nd place (+9, 225)…Bree Wanderscheid tied for 67th (+16, 232).
COACHING STAFF: The Cougars are led by eighth-year head coach Kelli Kamimura, who led the women's golf team to a conference-championship team record for the lowest three-round and single-round totals at the 2016 Pac-12 Championships…WSU alumna Emma Betland is entering her third season as assistant coach…Betland golfed at WSU from 2010-2013.
