KANEOHE, Hawaii – Led by the play of junior
Marie Lund-Hansen, Washington State women's golf put together an impressive showing at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, finishing the tournament with its highest placing this season. The Cougars carded a 910(+46) to finish fifth, two strokes above Gonzaga.
Lund-Hansen had an outstanding performance for the Cougars, tying her best career finish, tying for the silver medal. The Denmark native scored a two-over, 74, in the final round to bring her overall score to a three-over, 219. Her score was tied with Briggette Dunn from SMU. Lund-Hansen went three-under on par-5s and shot for seven birdies. The second place finish tied her top mark from last season when the then-sophomore just missed her first collegiate title at the Ron Moore Invitational during the fall season.
Also playing well for the Cougars was senior
Madison Odiorne. Odiorne carded an even-par in the final round to push herself into a tie for 20th with several competitors, including Mareen Cipolla from No. 2 Texas. The Portland, Ore. native went one-under on both par-3s and par-5s and shot for eight birdies.

Cameron March competed individually at the invitational. Baumgart finished tied for 28th with a 229(+13), while March posted a 237(+21).
No. 2 Texas and SMU tied for the tournament title, each closing out the tournament at 23-over par. Individually, Courtney Dow from Texas A&M took the title, posting an even-par, 216 through three rounds of play.
The Cougars head back on the course March 18-19 at the Meadow Club Invitational for the two-day event in Fairfax, Calif.
