THIS WEEK
Coming off of their third-best finish this season, the Washington State women's golf team heads to Silicon Valley, Calif. to compete in the Silverado Showdown. The three day event is co-hosted by Colorado and Oregon at the Silverado Country Club, a par-72, 6,192 yard course.
THE FIELD
The nine-team tournament will feature UNLV, Wisconsin, New Mexico, No. 1 USC, No. 25 Washington, San Diego State, Colorado State, Iowa State, No. 16 Northwestern, and the Cougars.
REPRESENTING WASHINGTON STATE
Competing for the Cougars will be senior Madison Odiorne who enters the tournament after an eighth place finish two weeks ago. Freshman Darcy Habgood, junior Marie Lund-Hansen, freshman Amy Chu, and redshirt-sophomore Emily Baumgart round out the Cougars' scoring five for the tournament.
LAST TIME ON THE GREEN
Senior Madison Odiorne capped one of the best performances of her four-year career with a tie for eighth place after posting a one-over, 217 at the Juli Inkster Invitational. The Cougars ended the tournament in eighth place overall at +22 after scoring a combined 886 in three rounds. Freshman Darcy Habgood and Amy Chu had great showings for the Cougars, placing 21st and 46th, respectively.
COACHING STAFF
The team is led by tenth-year head coach Kelli Kamimura, who led the women's golf team to eleven program records, a tournament title, and an individual NCAA berth in the 2017-18 season. WSU alumna Emma Betland is entering her fourth season as an assistant coach. Betland golfed at WSU from 2010-2013.
