Franks picks up his first career Pac-12 honors.
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Washington State University men's basketball junior forward Robert Franks has been named All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention, commissioner Larry Scott announced Monday.Â
A native of Vancouver, Wash., Franks leads Washington State with 17.4 points and is second on the team with 6.7 rebounds per game, ranking seventh and 15th in the Pac-12, respectively. Franks also ranks in the Pac-12 for free throw percentage (T-sixth, .851) and 3-point field goals made (T-10th, 2.2 per game).
Franks has led WSU in scoring 14 times this season, while reaching double figure points in 23 of 29 games (he missed one game with an injury). He has nine 20-point games, including two of 30 or more. Against California, Jan. 13, Franks set the WSU single game record with 10 3-pointers made, going 10-for-13 from beyond the arc for a career-high 34 points. He bettered the record by one, which was previously held by four other Cougars.Â
Franks is the 22nd Cougar to earn all-conference honorable mention, as it marks the 25th time a student-athlete has earned the accolades.Â
The Cougars continue their season as they enter the 20168 Pac-12 Tournament as the No. 11 seed and take on No. 6 Oregon, Wednesday, March 7 at 8:30 p.m. at Las Vegas's T-Mobile Arena.Â
