  • Alcohol Policy

    Possession and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited, except in Hollingbery Fieldhouse, Cougville, the Premium Seating Area and the Gray W Legends Lounge. Possession and/or consumption of alcohol can contribute to unruly or dangerous behavior. Violators will be removed from the stadium.

  • Animals

    Service animals or those in training for guests with disabilities are allowed in the facility. All other animals are prohibited. Please see the link below for further information: Support Animal Guidelines

  • ATM Locations (Automated Teller Machine)

    An ATM is located in front of the WSU Athletic Ticket office, in the center of both the North and South concourses, in Hollingbery Fieldhouse, and in Gesa Field Press Box.

    Baby changing stations can be found in men’s and women’s restrooms on the north, east and south concourses.

  • Band

    Founded in 1899, the Cougar Marching band consists of over 200 students from almost 70 majors across campus with a wide range of musical and marching backgrounds. As one of the largest student organizations at WSU, the Cougar Marching Band serves as an ambassador for WSU students, alumni, and fans wherever they perform. Through musical and visual excellence, they provide relentless support and entertainment for Cougar athletic teams and their fans. And for its members, the Cougar Marching Band aspires to provide a first-class educational, musical and social experiences.

    With an exciting mix of corps-style and traditional-style shows, the band performs a different show at every home football game, playing everything from Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bruno Mars to Sousa and Tchaikovsky, all in an effort to entertain our fans. The marching band travels to Seattle whenever the Apple Cup is away and will send a pep band or full band to select away games. Additionally, the band travels to any bowl games or conference championships, most recently enjoying the 2019 Cheez-It Bowl. The CMB has played in the Rose Bowl twice, several parades throughout the northwest, and in 2017 joined band members from the University of Washington and the University of Oregon in a combined trip to Ireland to march in the 2017 St. Patrick’s Parade in Dublin.   • Banners and Signs

    Hand held banners are permitted if they are in good taste, contain no profanity or derogatory statements, and do not block the view of other patrons.

  • Beverage Containers

    Empty, transparent plastic water bottles which are 1.5 liters or less in size are permitted at Gesa Field. Glass and metal beverage containers (including thermoses) are prohibited. Beverage containers (especially glass and metal) can: hide and store alcohol, shatter or break (which can result in sharp edges and/or pieces), or become dangerous projectiles, threatening the safety of guests, participants and officials.

  • The Bookie

    The Students Book Corporation, The Bookie, will be open on football Saturdays 8:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Sunday 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The Bookie is located in the Compton Union Building in the northwest corner on the first and ground floors.   • Butch T. Cougar

    In 1927, Governor Roland Hartley presented a cougar cub to the students of Washington State. This first cougar mascot was named Butch in honor of Herbert "Butch" Meeker of Spokane, who was WSU's gridiron football star at the time.

    Governor Clarence D. Martin presented Butch II to the student body in 1938. Butch III and IV were twin cubs presented by Governor Arthur B. Langlie in January 1942. Governor Langlie also presented Butch V in 1955. Butch VI, the last live mascot on campus, died in the summer of 1978.

    Mascot Purpose: Washington State University mascot, Butch, is a widely recognized symbol of the university. Appearances by Butch, not only at athletic events but also at other functions related to the university and its constituent groups, are a source of pride for members of the cougar family and a means of promoting the university.

  • Cameras

    Hand held photography cameras for personal use are allowed at all WSU athletic facilities.

  • Camcorders

    Videotaping equipment is not allowed in the stadium without written permission from the WSU Athletic Department. To obtain permission, patrons should call the Athletic Department 509/335-5109.

  • Clear Bag Policy

    This policy limits the type and size of bags permitted in the venue. However, guests are still allowed to bring personal items, but they must either be carried or fit into a permissible sized bag. Approved bags include clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags that do not exceed 14” by 8” by 14”; one-gallon clear re-sealable plastic storage bags; small clutch purses no larger than 4.5” by 6.5” with or without a handle or strap.

  • Code of Conduct

    It is the goal of the WSU Public Safety Department and Athletics Event Management to provide a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment for all participants and fans. Safety and security policies have been established to benefit everyone entering our venues. Please help us maintain a FUN and SAFE environment for athletes, students, families, and all patrons by complying with all stadium policies. WSU, along with the NCAA and Pac-12 Conference, has assigned a high priority to assuring athletic events are conducted in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere that promotes good sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches, and spectators. We request your cooperation by supporting the participants and officials in a positive manner. Profanity, discriminatory statements *on the basis of race, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identification, age, national origin, religion, military status, disability status, or any other characteristic,* or other abusive comments or actions directed at officials, student-athletes, coaches, team representatives, or other patrons will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the site of competition.

    Any comments that, pose a genuine threat, can be deemed harassment, or violates the law, is prohibited and may be grounds for removal from the event.  WSU reserves the right to regulate behavior to ensure that it does not disrupt athletic events or other regular activities of the University.  Entering the field/court of play during the course of event will subject a guest to immediate ejection from the venue. Guests are responsible for complying with all applicable University, state, and federal rules, polices and laws.  Failure to do so may result in seat relocation, ejection, loss of games tickets, and/or criminal consequences.

  • CUB (Compton Union Building)

    Conveniently located at the southwest corner of Gesa Field, the Compton Union Building offers restrooms, a games area, food and beverages and much more.   • Concessions

    Concession stands are located in all areas of the stadium and sell a variety of food and drink items.

  • Cougar Prowl

    Don't miss this gameday tradition as fans gather to cheer on the Cougars as they make their way into Gesa Field. New for the 2025 season, the Cougar Prowl will begin two hours and 40 minutes prior to kickoff and will now start at the Taylor Sports Complex. Head Coach Jimmy Rogers will lead the Cougars through the RV1 parking lot, past the Cougar Pride Statue, and into the Northeast entrance to Gesa Field. Fans of all ages are invited to join in this celebration of welcoming the Cougs to Gesa Field each home game.

  • Cougville

    Cougville, located on Rogers Field, remains one of the premier pregame tailgate spots on campus. Cougville provides fans with entertainment options for the entire family, including a beer garden for adults and a kids zone with inflatable bounce houses for young Cougar fans to enjoy. Cougville will open two hours prior to kickoff, close once the game begins, then re-open for halftime. Fans must show their game tickets to enter Cougville pregame.

  • Disabled Guests

    Accessible seating is available in sections 5, 10, 22, 26 and the East end zone. All accessible seating is sold on a reserved ticket basis only. If accessible tickets were not purchased in advance, the ticket office will exchange tickets if space is available. We encourage fans to contact the ticket office early at 1-800-GO-COUGS to request accessible seating accommodations. Accessible student seating is located in section 27 or the West end zone directly behind the band. Student seating is general admission. Chairs in accessible seating areas are available upon request - please ask the nearest event staff member if you need one. Accessible parking is available on a space-available basis in WSU parking lots on gameday for vehicles displaying valid placards or plates. A valid game day parking permit from any lot is also required. Look for lots marked with the international accessibility logo. Parking attendants can provide direction to available spaces.   • Drinking Fountains

    Drinking fountains can be found on the North and East concourses.

  • Drones and Radio-Controlled Aerial Cameras

    FAA and Pac-12 Conference policies prohibit the use of aerial drones, helicopters and any other remote-controlled flying devices in or around Gesa Field or any other WSU athletic facilities at any time.

  • Emergencies and Evacuations Procedures

    Evacuation routes will be determined by Public Safety Personnel (Police, Fire, and Event Management). Please remain calm and follow the directions of the Public Address Announcer and the nearest Event Management personnel.

  • Emergency Phone Calls

    For any emergency occurring on campus, dial 911 for ambulance, police or fire service. If you are calling from a non-campus phone, dial 509-335-0911.

  • Entry Search

    Management must rely on communication with and cooperation of the spectator. A visual inspection will be made at the gate. This is a voluntary search. Patrons will be asked to open bags, purses, etc. If a patron does not volunteer for a search and there is reasonable suspicion that they possess banned items, they may be denied entry.

  • Exit and Re-Entry

    Exit and re-entry is discouraged until after the first quarter when the gates are clear. If patrons leave the stadium for any reason during the course of the game, they must have their ticket scanned before exiting and also when re-entering the stadium. Students must get a stamp at Gate I before leaving the stadium along with guests exiting out of Gate I and Gate H.

  • First Aid

    First Aid people (EMT’s and Paramedics) are located throughout the stadium and Fieldhouse and wear yellow vests with identifying symbols. The First Aid rooms are located on the South concourse near Gate F and on the North concourse behind section 27 in Room 31. All stations open two hours prior to the scheduled game times and close approximately 30 minutes after the completion of the game. Transport time to the local hospital is approximately 10 minutes.

  • Guest Services

    There are five (5) Guest Service locations in and around Gesa Field. One of these locations is directly inside of Gate F and opens two hours prior to kickoff and closes 30 minutes after the conclusion of the game. The four other locations are located along the perimeter of Gesa Field and open three hours prior to kickoff and close 10 minutes after kickoff. These guest locations include directly outside of Gate A, north of the student plaza off of Cougar Way, directly outside of Gate I adjacent to Rogers Field/Cougville and directly outside of the premium seating entrance near the CUB. In the premium seating area, concierges will be positioned off the west elevators on each floor. These individuals will act as a guest service captain for the Club, Loge, Suite and Coaches Club patrons.

  • Hollingbery Fieldhouse

    New this year, Hollingbery Fieldhouse will not be open to the public. The venue will be used to host private events for corporate partners of Cougar Athletics. Fans looking for the pregame experience found at Hollingbery Fieldhouse in previous years can now enjoy that same festive atmosphere at Kickoff At The CUB in the Compton Union Building Senior Ballroom or at Cougville on Rogers Field.

  • Kickoff At The CUB

    New this year is the Kickoff At The CUB tailgate, located in the CUB Senior Ballroom. Beginning three hours prior to kickoff, all fans are welcome to enjoy the pregame atmosphere with featured food and drinks – including beer, wine, soda, and cocktails - available for purchase. With multiple screens throughout the room, fans will be able to enjoy college football games from all around the country. Kickoff At The CUB will also feature an appearance from the Cougar Marching Band to build the excitement. The CUB Senior Ballroom is located on the second floor of the Compton Union Building.

  • Lost Children

    Please report lost children to the nearest usher or ticket taker. A public announcement may be made in the case of an emergency.

    Artificial noisemaking devices are prohibited. In addition to confiscation, violators may be subject to university disciplinary action (if applicable) and to removal from the event site.

    Food and drinks from outside vendors are NOT permitted inside Gesa Field. See the list of permitted items under “P” relating to baby food/drinks and empty water bottles.

  • Park and Ride

    Pullman Transit is teaming up with WSU Athletics to provide free Park and Ride service on home football game days. All Park and Ride busses drop off near Gesa Field. After the game, all transit pick-up locations will begin on the closed portion of Stadium Way by the east end zone of Gesa Field.   • Parking and Transportation

    Season parking passes are available for purchase to current football season ticket holders members through the WSU Athletic Ticket Office. All season parking passes will be sent via mobile delivery.

    General parking is available on the east side of campus and can be purchased through WSU Parking & Transportation Services.

    - All personal possessions must fit under your designated seat location
    - Clear Bags that are 14”x8”x14” or smaller

    - Strollers (strollers can’t accompany you to your seat and we don’t have don’t have storage areas for them).

  • Playing Surface

    Gesa Field and the adjacent Rogers Practice Field both feature a FieldTurf playing surface, a synthetic grass with a base of rubber and sand. In 2000, WSU became just the 2nd Division I team to install the artificial surface. In 2014 new FieldTurf was installed.

  • Programs

    Programs are available for purchase at the kiosks on the North and South concourses as well as at various other locations throughout Gesa Field. Sales will begin two hours prior to scheduled game time and end at the conclusion of the second quarter. Sales may end when sold out, which can vary in regards to timing.

  • Prohibited Items/Safety Policies

    The following policies have been developed with spectator and participant safety in mind. Failure to abide by the following policies may result in ejection and/or legal proceedings.
    Prohibited Items:
    - Non-service animals
    - Alcohol
    - Bicycles
    - Glass, metal containers and thermoses This rule does not apply to empty plastic water bottles, which are one liter in size or less.
    - Laser Pointers
    - Hard sided bags, suitcases, coolers, or other similar devices
    - Large bags (all soft sided and CLEAR bags must be able to fit under your seat and be no larger than 14”x 8” x 14”)
    - Artificial noisemakers (horns, whistles, etc.)
    - Tobacco products. Smoking is not allowed on campus
    - Fireworks/weapons/explosive devices
    - Camcorders without written permission from WSU Athletics (to obtain permission please call 509-335-5109)
    - Drones
    - Umbrellas
    - Food and beverage unless purchase inside the venue
    - Extension items used to hold cellular telephones or cameras in place (e.g. “selfie sticks”)
    - Flag poles, or any items that act as an extension of an arm and have a flag or sign affixed


    Safety Policies:
    Our staff will proactively intervene to support an environment where guests can enjoy the Cougar Football experience free from unacceptable behavior, including the following:
    - No Smoking at Gesa Field
    - No Throwing of Objects
    - No unruly or disruptive behavior
    - No Foul/abusive language or obscene gestures
    - Intoxication or other signs of impairment related to alcohol consumption


    Any guest not adhering to the above code or behaving in an unruly manner will be removed from Gesa Field. Crowd management staff reserves the right to determine what unruly or unacceptable behavior is.

    All RV permits will be issued by the Cougar Athletic Fund. You must be a season ticket holder and a member of the CAF at $2,500 for Region 1, $1,000 for Region 2 and $750 for Regions 3-6 to qualify for a possible spot. All spots are sold on a season pass basis. All spots are renewable and are sold on a season pass basis.   • Shuttle

    A complimentary shuttle service, provided by the Coug Guys & Gals, is available for mobility impaired guests needing assistance. Shuttles begin three (3) hours prior to scheduled game times and continue until kick-off. Shuttles resume their routes for one (1) hour following games. Shuttles will stop at designated areas approximately every 20 minutes and take fans to Gesa Field or Hollingbery Fieldhouse. For more information on game day shuttles, please call 1-877-IMA-COUG (462-2684). Airport shuttles will also be provided. Advance airport shuttle requests can be made by calling 1-877-IMA-COUG (462-2684) no later than 4pm on the Friday before the game.

  • Smoking Policy

    Smoking is prohibited on the Washington State University campus. WSU became a tobacco free campus in 2016.

  • Spirit Squad

    The Washington State University Spirit Squad is made up of the cheerleaders, the dance team and the mascot "Butch". Each of the three groups plays a major role in creating spirit and enthusiasm at Washington State University. For more information, please visit Spirit Webpage

  • Strollers

    Strollers will not be permitted in the stadium seating areas. All strollers, including umbrella strollers, must be left in the concourse area of Gesa Field at the risk of the owner.

  • Ticket Refund Policy

    Scheduled game times are tentative up until the week of the game. There is a no refund, exchange, or cancellation policy on tickets. This includes game time changes because of television.

  • Ticket Problems-Gameday

    The WSU Athletic Ticket Office is located adjacent to Gate B in the east end of Gesa Field next to the Cougar Pride statue. The office opens three (3) hours prior to scheduled game times and closes at the beginning of halftime. Assistance with any game day ticket problems can be addressed by visiting the WSU Athletic Ticket Office in person. If a problem arises after entering the stadium, please contact stadium Guest Services personnel at Gate A and Gate F. If they are unable to resolve the problem, please contact the Ticket Office.

  • Purchasing Tickets-Gameday

    Reserve tickets go on sale at the WSU Athletic Ticket Office three (3) hours prior to scheduled game times. Student and student guest tickets can be purchased at the two Student Ticket Booths in the student plaza beginning two (2) hours prior to scheduled game times if tickets are available. To avoid lines on game day, purchase your tickets in advance at WSUCougars.com or by calling 1-800-GO-COUGS (Monday – Friday; 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).
