THEY SAID:
Wayne Phipps, WSU Director of Cross Country/Track & Field said, "It was an awesome meet for our heps. Alissa battled through illness to a very impressive score which ranks number three in the nation. On top of all of the impressive PRs throughout the meet, I was most impressed by her toughness in the 800m. Knowing she needed to beat the leader by three seconds, she went straight to the front and led from start to finish. Lindsey also had a great meet with a strong PR and just missed scoring. An elbow injury made for a tough javelin but she battled back with a gutsy 800m of her own to almost grab eighth place."

Alissa Brooks-Johnson, redshirt senior, Pac-12 Heptathlon Champion said, "This whole weekend was such a great experience and competition! I had a great first day with four PRs. I've been waiting a while for this type of hep and competition, so I'm glad it came together at conference. I still have lots of points left on the track and I'm excited to see what I can do at nationals!"
