The WSU women's golf team won the first Playoff Hole on Tuesday to win the match over Oregon at the Las Vegas Country Club.

The Cougars earned three points and held the Ducks to two on the second day of the dual, resulting in a tie with both teams having a two-day total of four total points. The tie sent the teams to the sudden death playoff, where the Cougars scored an even par and the Ducks went 1 over.

Emily Baumgart all won their singles matches for the day, each earning one point for WSU.

The teams first met up on Monday, where they competed in one singles match and two four-ball matches. Oregon came out on top, earning two out of the three points possible in the dual format.

Marie Lund-Hansen went head to head with Oregon freshman Alexis Phadungmartvorakul in the only singles match of the day, which Phadungmartvorakul took the point from.

Bree Wanderscheid and junior
Madison Odiorne birdied the final two holes of their four ball match to pull out ahead of the Ducks and to mark the Cougars sole point of the day.

The Cougars will have another brief break before their next tournament, which is the Westbrook Spring Invitational in Peoria Arizona on February 25.Â
