WSU Head Coach Jane LaRiviere on the Burnaby Lake Small Boat Invitational: "We're taking a crowd of eight pairs that all have different goals. They've been getting a lot of work in, and they've been working really hard. This is meant to be just a measure and sort of reward for all the training they have been doing. I think it is going to be fun."
Coach LaRiviere on Fall Training: "It's actually been going really well. We have been all in small boats this whole fall, and just the quality – another year of experience, plus Ieva Adomaviciute and Nicole Hare coming back – has given us a lot more depth than we started off with last year. It's been great. We get eight pairs out there every day, we've been switching lineups, and for the most part people have been really adaptable and flexible. We've been getting lots of kilometers in and I'm looking forward to going up to Burnaby and seeing what we can do."
Coaching Staff: Jane LaRiviere begins her 15th year as head coach of the WSU women's rowing program...as a team, the Cougars have raced in ten NCAA Championships under LaRiviere...she is joined by associate head coach Josh Adam, assistant/novice coach Karl Huhta and assistant coach Liz England...Adam is in his seventh year after coaching his prior two years at Indiana...Huhta is in his third year with the Cougars and second as the novice coach...England is entering her first season, after rowing for LaRiviere from 2010-12.
Next up for the Cougars: Washington State will return to the water for fall competition with its larger crews and coxswains, Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Head of the Spokane, hosted by Gonzaga.
